It’s such an honor to announce that for the third year running, I have been voted one of the top photographers in Northern Michigan by Traverse Magazine’s ‘Red Hot Best’ of List. This year, over 15,000 people (15,349 to be exact) voted to determine the winners. In previous years, I have won Best Photographer and Best Portrait Photographer. This year, in a brand-new category, I was named Best Wedding Photographer. (Woo-Hoo!)
Best Michigan Photographer: My Love for Northern Michigan
I grew up in Michigan, and as much as I love to travel, I will always remain a Mid-western girl at heart. There’s so much that I love about Northern Michigan. It is filled with nature’s untouched beauty and is truly a worldwide destination. As a Michigan wedding photographer, time and time again I have seen so many mid-westerners return to their roots for their weddings. There’s so much beauty here in the Michigan wilds. As someone who has traveled the world from Bali to Bologna, my heart belongs to Northern Michigan. That’s why I always come back, no matter how far I roam. With its charming, small towns and local businesses balanced with high end luxury, there is something for everyone.
And yet, it’s not overrun by tourists! It’s no wonder couples choose Northern Michigan as a backdrop for their wedding vows! The Great Lakes are simply gorgeous. Their beauty rivals any ocean—plus, with the added bonus of no sharks! I’ve traveled and photographed locations all over the world, but I have returned every summer to live, to bike, and to photograph Northern Michigan for over a decade.
